Bushwalking Pilgrimage 2017 - Killarney Picture Gallery on Flickr

The 2017 Bushwalking Pilgrimage is now over. Two years of planning and a year of organising resulted in an immense turn out from the clubs. Without your attendance, it wouldn’t have been such a great event. Your enthusiasm and support contributed to what proved to be a fantastic weekend.

Congratulations to the winner of the Early Bird Registration donated by Adventure Survival Gear – Monica from the Redlands Bushwalkers. Thanks also to our other sponsors of Alpha Sport for the ankle strapping tape, Nerada for the tea bags, FMR for conducting the self rescue safety course and Pronto Software for the printing and equipment.

A special thank you to Delphine Charles who stepped in at the last minute due to her sister’s ill health to carry out the Welcome to Country on behalf of Githabul. We as bushwalkers venture most weekends into this amazing country with such diversity between the west and east coasts and everything in-between. Who appreciates the great outdoors more than avid Bushwalkers?

The Gallery of photos we have linked to above is to create a record of the spirit and camaraderie these annual get-togethers bring to the Bushwalking community of SEQ. Enjoy!!! Please contact us if you have photos you feel should be added to this record of the Killarney weekend.

Hello Lyn,
many thanks for all your club's efforts in organising the Pilgrimage last weekend. It was a superb effort and a whole lot of fun. I enjoyed the whole weekend tremendously. The bush band and dancing was great fun, a very professional troupe.
Great effort, much appreciated!

Dear Sir/Madam.
I would like to thank everyone involved with putting on the above Pilgrimage. It was so good and we had a great time and the feedback from our club members was amazing. Everything went off well and all the people concerned should be congratulated on a top effort.
I did the Cambanoora Gorge bike ride on Sunday led by Jenni and she was great and she was encouraging me all the way as i was finding it tough in places and i never had a chance to thank her

Congratulations to both the YHA and Catholic Bushwalking Clubs on behalf of the Sunshine Coast Bushwalking Club on a fantastic 2017 Pilgrimage.
We had 15 members attend and participated in 7 walk activities on the Saturday and 3 activities on the Sunday. The feedback from all was excellent on the general organisation and quality of the activities and fun that we all had. Well done to your team and you are going to be difficult to follow in 2018.

Thank u again Lynn for a marvelous experience. We were from gold coast Bushwalkers and had a wonderful walk with Toni and then a great and adventurous bike ride with Jenny (I think the was the right names, could have been in reverse) but both ladies were very patient and thoughtful. The dinner was to die for! I truly didn't eXpect it all to be so good and now I am waiting for the next year's one.

All of Killarny’s community groups work closely on such events and share the funds gathered. For instance during the dinner there were helpers from the show society, KAPA, Killarney recreation club and Killarney Lions club etc etc. KAPA also produces and sells the Guide to the Cambanoora Gorge of which I sold a few to members on the night. These sell for $7 each, any orders can be made though me or can be purchase through Killarney post office.
